Experience:
Michael is a principal in Plante Moran Management Consulting practice. His client service experience involves accounting, auditing, taxation, and consulting for companies of all sizes.
A significant portion of Michael’s career has been spent as an audit partner and team leader with extensive knowledge in real estate. Michael currently has the responsibility of growing and servicing real estate clients for Plante Moran Finance, Accounting and Outsource practice and acts as the CFO for several of his real estate clients.
In his experience, Michael has worked with both large and small real estate clients and has assisted in performing both acquisition and disposition due diligence on their behalf. He has also served as an expert witness on numerous real estate litigation matters.
Additionally, Michael has served as chief financial officer of a real estate company overseeing both their financial and administrative matters. In this role, he was responsible for representing the company with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and ensuring that the loan and investor covenants were being complied with.
Michael has been a participant on numerous panels discussing the state of the real estate industry, specifically during the Great Recession of the late 2000s, and has served on various boards as treasurer.
